Friday NIght Sampling: Kona February 03, 2012 - The Beer Yard

Fire Rock Pale Ale, Koko Brown & Longboard Island Lager, the first beers from Hawaii's Kona Brewing, will be pouring from 5-7pm. And you'll love Mark in his grass skirt.

The annual British Invasion event will feature 11 English-style beers , inlcuding 3 cask-conditioned beers and 2 bourbon-barrel aged beers! Chef Tim has prepared an awesome menu of English-themed cuisine. There will be British music all day, and tickets to the pub's Fat Tuesday Beer Dinner will be auctioned off at 5PM. We found a couple barrel aged stouts from Michigan that you may have heard of, along with several 'tions, a couple kegs from 56 Gheudestraat on the handpumps, and more of our favorites to come as we finish compiling our Superbowl list."

Riserva 2011 Release @ Weyerbacher February 10, 2012 - Weyerbacher Brewery, 905-G Line Street Easton, PA

4:30 to 8:00 pm, to sample and purchase Riserva 2011. Says the brewery: This year's batch is perfectly carbonated, more full-bodied than any in the past and nicely tart as a sour beer should be! Riserva is an 11.7% abv amber ale, fermented with wild yeast and red raspberries. In choosing the barrels to blend specifically for this year's batch, we were able to achieve an absolutely beautiful taste profile that's the epitome of the sour beer experience. We feel that this is the best Riserva ever.

We're releasing the final 25 cs of Rapture, 3 bottle max per person.
This year’s Insanity, barrel aged Barleywine, will be released and available to sample or buy.

Valentine's Beer Dinner @ Hawthorne's February 14, 2012 - Hawthorne's Cafe, 38 S. 11 St., Philadelphia
