Great Divide Brewing Hibernation Ale COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION - Great Divide Hibernation Ale, Colorado’s original strong ale, was first made in 1995. It is brewed each July with American ale yeast, Northwest 2-Row, Brown, Dark Caramel and Chocolate malts and Centennial and Cascade hops. Batches are then cellared until November.

Great Divide Brewing Company in downtown Denver, Colorado was created by Brian and Tara Dunn in 1993. The site was an abandoned building in the shadows of what would later become Denver’s new Ballpark into Great Divide Brewing Company. Great Divide, the only brewery in Denver with a pub,  handcrafts over 80,000 cases of fresh beer each year, and has won more national and international awards than any other Denver brewery.
