March 06, 2003 - Three Local Winners at Real Ale Festival
Local medal winners at the 2003 National Real Ale Competition in Chicago last weekend were Nodding Head Brewery and Restaurant's Grog (Silver Medal among British-style Dark Ales; this beer won the Gold at GABF last year); Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant's Pig Iron Porter (Silver Medal among American-Dark Ales) and Yards Brewing Company's Extra Special Ale (Bronze Medal among British-style Bitters).

Among the winning brews available at the Beer Yard were Shipyard Brewing's Old Thumper Extra Special Ale (Silver, British-style Bitters, Cask), Stone Brewing Company's Ruination IPA (Silver, American-style IPA) and Rogue Ales' Shakespeare Stout (Bronze, American-style Stouts).
